Zentiva Czech Republic underlines its commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

The European Diversity Charter has been signed by Zentiva during the International Conference for European Diversity Day

PRAGUE – June 2,  2022: Zentiva, a leading Czech producer of high-quality and affordable medicines has just signed the European Diversity Charter on Friday, 27th May during the International Conference for European Diversity Day. The conference was organized by the Business for Society alliance, the national coordinator of the European Diversity Charter. The event was held under the auspices of Markéta Adamová Pekarová, Chairwoman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. This high-profile event celebrated the addition of new businesses to the Diversity Charter, including Zentiva, during the charter accession ceremony. The European Diversity Charter aims to promote and implement diversity, flexibility and inclusion in the labor market in EU countries.

All new signatories formalizing their commitment  to   had their representatives received by Markéta Adamová Pekarová, Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, who noted: "I consider diversity to be a very important contribution and a very valuable source of inspiration in society, not a weakness and an obstacle to social development. That is why I try to support it in every way I can, and that is why I have also decided to give European diversity my patronage". Zentiva was represented by Ines Windisch, Head of HR, Communications & Sustainability and Tomas Pala, Corporate Affairs Manager. By joining, companies have voluntarily and publicly committed to developing the principles of openness, a fair working environment, anti-discrimination and, of course, diversity and inclusion in the work environment. As for Zentiva it is already its second affiliate which joined the Charter after Romanian site which joined already in November 2021.

Additionally, the conference theme revolved around Building bridges, and Ines Windisch was also a member of the “European and transatlantic cooperation in the labor market and society” panel representing Zentiva among other prominent business representatives and global ambassadors. „We want to contribute to a world where everyone can be their true selves, no matter which nationality, gender, education or belief you have. This is what we do at Zentiva.“

The operations are headquartered in Prague, where the story of Zentiva began more than 530 years ago in a small pharmacy that served the people in Prague.
