MAXIMISING THE SUPPLY OF MEDICINES IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER, AS ZENTIVA RESPONDS TO PATIENT NEEDS ACROSS EUROPE

PRAGUE – March 25, 2021: Zentiva, the largest manufacturer of medicines in the Czech Republic, produced 129 million  of medicines in 2020. This is an all-time-high since founding the site more than 90 years ago.

As a company we acted fast and flexibly, adapted and increased our production activity, and created a safe environment for our people who have to come to our Zentiva campus to keep Development and Production activities ongoing”, says Denis Paris, Head of Prague Site.

Zentiva’s Prague Site produces tablets, hospital injectables medicines, ointments, hormones, eye drops, and suspensions. It is now the 3rd year in a row that Zentiva Prague increased its production capacity. 1 out of 5 prescribed products in the Czech Republic produced by Zentiva. The site is producing medicines used in intensive care units, life-saving medicines and a wide portfolio that help patients with chronic and acute conditions. During the first phase of the COVID-pandemic, SANICOR, a disinfection solution and spray was also added to the portfolio to help reduce virus transfer on the hands and surfaces. 

Denis Paris: “We had to significantly change the way we operate. Thanks to the engagement and the trust of our people we could make it happen and today we are stronger than ever. There is a high commitment of the company to further invest into our home country, where we employ 1.500 people working in Development, our Manufacturing Site, our Commercial Organization and at our Headquarters.”
